  • Why should I consider having my floors / other slippery surfaces treated?
The NEW ANSI B101.1 Standard requires that all walking surfaces in your Hotel/BUSINESS meet or exceed a minimum Coefficient of Friction (TRACTION) of 0.60. More importantly; if the answer is YES to any of these questions...The you should consider treatment. ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT INCREASING INSURANCE PREMIUMS? ARE YOUR WORKERS’ COMP CLAIMS INCREASING? HAVE YOU BEEN SUED BECAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT? HAVE YOU BEEN FINED BY OSHA FOR NON-COMPLIANCE?
  • Does the treatment change the way the floor or bathtub look or feel?
There is no discernible change in the look or dry feel of your floor when professionally applied. When wet, the surface actually becomes LESS slippery. For fiberglass tubs, some people choose to have us a apply a light topical solution to improve traction, but you can only notice the application, up close.
  • Does, this treatment protect me in a lawsuit"
In most cases, awards are based on negligence. Did the business know there was a risk, and did they take action. There is case history, where hotels have hired a professional to treat their floors, and they were not sued, when a fall occurred. Our service reduces the likelihood someone can defend a negligence claim.
  • What types of floors can be treated to become slip resistant?
The Slip Solvers process is effective on all mineral surfaces; ceramic or porcelain tiles, marble, travertine, concrete, river rock and more.
  • How much does it cost?
Costs vary depending on the details, but floors generally run between $1.95 to $4.00 per square foot, depending on the surface and square footage. Industrial coatings can be more, depending on the surface and square footage involved. Tubs and showers are quoted on a per tub/shower basis, depending on volume. We typically charge $150-$200 per tub, but the “per tub price” is discounted, if we are handling multiple tubs.
  • Is there a warranty? How long does the treatment last?
Yes, our service comes with a 2 year warranty, but we also offer very affordable continued maintenance options, for a very low rate, that can extend your warranty to 5 or 7 years.
  • Does this treatment guarantee that I won't have a slip & fall accident?
We can’t guarantee that no one will ever fall on a treated floor but we do guarantee that your floor will meet or exceed government and industry standards for a “safe walking surface”, which is a COF of .6.
  • Will having my floors treated affect my insurance rate?
Upon receipt of your 2 year warranty documenting your new slip resistant SCOF numbers you should have your insurance agent fax the document to underwriting for reclassification and adjustment.
  • Why do you say that the treatment makes it "Safer Wet than Dry"?"
Our treatment changes the surface in such a way that when exposed to water the floor is actually measurably less slippery when it is wet than when it is dry.
  • Can I buy the product and do it myself?
Yes and no. Authorized distributors such as Slip Solvers purchase in higher concentrations from the manufacturer, AND we have the tools, training, and certification to apply the products.
  • What types of businesses can benefit from a NON-SLIP treatments?
Virtually all types of businesses can benefit from a NON-SLIP Floor Treatment.
  • I've owned my business for many years and never had a slip and fall accident. Why should I worry about it?
If you stay in business long enough statistics indicate that it is inevitable that someone will suffer a slip and fall at some point. The problem is universal across all business types.
  • Does my business qualify for the ADA Tax Credit?
If your business meets the IRS requirements of a “small business” you will qualify for the tax credit. Speak with your accountant or visit the IRS website and review IRS form # 8826 for definitions.
  • How can I determine if my floor is treatable?
Our floor solutions experts will be able to determine if your floor can be treated.
  • Will your treatment dull my shiny floor?
Properly applied, the treatment does not cause a noticeable reduction in shine.
  • Why do I need aftercare products?
Many floors do not need any special treatment in order to maintain their slip resistance but certain environments such as kitchens require products which eliminate grease and prevent a buildup which would degrade our treatment.
  • How are they different from our regular cleaners?
They have been specifically designed and tested to be more effective against grease and oil.
